"Aloha! My name is Mahealani Mahiai Austin and it has been an honor and blessing to serve and work in this beautiful community where my father was born and raised. I have a loving and supportive hubby and I'm a proud momma of 3.
My work in community began in 2013 through volunteer opportunities with New Hope Town Church and UH Manoa's Social Work Program where I served as a practicum student in 2016. Since then, I have remained currently serving as the Program Coordinator for Papakōlea's Kūpuna Community Care Network (KCCN). I’m a graduate of Kamehameha Schools Class of 2001 and UH Mānoa Class of 2018 with a Master’s in Social Work. My work history has always been with kūpuna since I was 19 years old working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Private Caregiver, and Care Home Operator. This experience to care for and serve our precious kūpuna has humbled and blessed me in so many ways. I am definitely thankful to God for the opportunities and I hope to steward well what I've been blessed with to help those I serve prosper. Aloha nui loa!"
